The training facilities of Olympic champions and world champions are located here – the LOTTO Thüringen ARENA, the luge and bobsleigh track, the ski jumping facilities as well as cross-country skiing facilities. The famous winter sports resort situated near the Rennsteig has plenty of sporting activities to offer its visitors all year round: from cross-country skiing, sledding, snowboarding and hiking to biathlon shooting and guest bob-sleighing for everyone.

For nature lovers, a visit to the Rennsteig Garden, which presents the austere splendour of the mountains, is also worthwhile. At an altitude of 868 metres in the mountain ridge of the Thuringian Forest, this botanical garden features 4000 different plant species native to the mountains of Europe, Asia, South and North America, New Zealand, and the Arctic region.
