Thuringian Bratwurst, Hütes & sumptuous indulgence

Good food is undoubtedly part of the DNA of the Prachtregion: the “Original Thuringian Bratwurst”, a trademark sausage protected throughout Europe, is produced by butchers according to secret family recipes – also in creative variations with wild garlic, dark beer or mango. Thuringian dumplings, according to legend invented in Meiningen (called “Hütes” here), are also on every menu. The delicious potato side dish is traditionally served with duck, goose, roast or – quite classically – with Thuringian roulade.

In addition to the hearty Thuringian cuisine, the gastronomic spectrum of the Prachtregion ranges from international specialities to gourmet menus. Local products from Rhön beer to farmhouse cheese in organic quality also guarantee regionality and culinary treats. The popular Vita Cola and the tenderly melting Viba Nougat are undoubtedly the best-known brand products from the Prachtregion.
