Dolmar-Salzbrücke

The region between Dolmar and Salzbrücke is characterised by its pretty half-timbered houses in the Franconian architectural style, the Upper Werratal Cultural Landscape Park and, of course, the region’s namesake mountain. The 793-metre-high Dolmar offers fantastic views of the Prachtregion. The mountain with its “Charlottenhaus” inn is a popular destination especially for hikers and cyclists.

At the foot of the Dolmar there is the flight school “Am Dolmar“. It trains students in hang gliding, microlight flying and aerotow.
On the eastern edge of the village of Kühndorf, on an outlying hilltop, sits the imposing Johanniterburg, the only surviving castle of the Order of St. John in the German-speaking world.
